1. Estimates, not advice
GreenCalcs provides free informational calculators and guides about residential solar energy. All results are estimates for planning purposes only. They are not financial, tax, legal, engineering or investment advice. Your actual costs and savings will differ based on your roof, shading, equipment, installer, utility and tax situation. Always confirm with a licensed solar installer and a qualified tax professional before making a purchase decision.
2. No guarantee of accuracy
We work hard to keep our data current using primary sources (DSIRE, NREL, EIA, IRS), but incentives, rates and tax rules change frequently and may contain errors or become outdated. We make no warranty that any figure is accurate, complete or current, and we are not liable for decisions made based on the calculators.
3. Acceptable use
You may use GreenCalcs freely for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to: scrape the site at scale in a way that burdens our servers, republish our calculators or content as your own, or use the site for any unlawful purpose. Our calculator embed widgets, when offered, may be used per their accompanying terms.
4. Intellectual property
The GreenCalcs name, design, calculator logic and written content are owned by GreenCalcs and protected by copyright. You may link to and quote short excerpts with attribution. You may not copy substantial portions without permission.
5. Third-party links
We link to external resources such as government databases and, in future, advertising or affiliate partners. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy or privacy practices of any third-party site.
6. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, GreenCalcs and its contributors are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, this website or its calculators.
7. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated terms. The "last updated" date above reflects the latest version.
